INTERVIEW ASSISTANCE

The first step for any interview is to be prepared. View your interview with
THE RIGHT STAFF as you would with a potential employer. THE RIGHT STAFF will view how you present yourself to us is how you will present yourself to one of our clients. Consider these standard interview tips:

Be on time: Plan to arrive 10 or 15 minutes before your scheduled time. It is a good idea to map out your route a day or two before your interview. Allow for factors like traffic, weather conditions, getting lost or finding a parking place. An early arrival will also give you an opportunity to mentally prepare for the interview.

Be prepared: Have a folder with extra copies of your resume, references and paper to take notes. Be ready to answer questions about your goals, work history, and explain any gaps in your employment. Prepare some examples of past work successes. Your past behavior can indicate future performance. Think about questions you should ask about any position that may be offered. When you are prepared you are confident and this will come across during the interview.

Appearance: Just as a picture is worth a thousand words, your appearance speaks volumes. Before you even say your first words, the interviewer begins to form an opinion about you. First impressions are lasting impressions. Does this mean you should wear a suit if you are applying for a machinist position? Not really. We suggest you dress appropriate to the position you are applying for. Every job interview requires you to be neat and clean with attention to personal hygiene. Most interviewers recommend dressing on the conservative side.

Physical bearing: Handshakes should be firm, your posture shows energy and enthusiasm, and you maintain appropriate eye contact during the interview. Attention to these nonverbal cues goes a long way to a successful interview!

A final note: When you are offered a position with a client of THE RIGHT STAFF, your Recruiting Associate will coach you for the interview with that client. There is no way to predict what an interview holds. By following these basic tips your opportunity for success increases by volumes!
